
NIACC faces Iowa Central at regional tournament
FORT DODGE - The NIACC baseball team returns to action at 6 p.m. Friday against Iowa Central at the NJCAA Region 11 tournament at Harlan Rogers Park.
NIACC (24-31) stayed alive in the 6-team, double-elimination regional tournament with a 6-2, 10-inning victory over Northeast CC Thursday night.
NIACC takes on the third-seeded Tritons (45-12) in the elimination contest in the third game of the day Friday. Iowa Central topped NIACC 8-5 in the opening round of the regional tournament Thursday.
Southeastern topped Iowa Central 9-1 in seven innings in the first game of the day Friday. DMACC upset top-seed Kirkwood 17-3 in five innings in the second game Friday.
