Roosevelt Field

The NIACC baseball team plays its home games at historic Roosevelt Field in Mason City.

Roosevelt Field, which is located at Pennsylvania Ave. and 15th St. SE, was built in 1938 and seats around 1,500. It sits between Roosevelt Elementary School and Lincoln Intermediate School.

The field, which is also home to the Mason City High baseball team, recently hosted the NJCAA Division II Northern Plains district tournament in May of 2016. It also played host to the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association all-star series in August of 2016.

The Iowa Sports Turf Managers Association selected Roosevelt Field the best ballpark in Iowa in 2012.

Roosevelt Field hosted 18 Iowa high school spring state baseball tournaments. Roosevelt hosted the first Iowa high school spring state tournament in 1947. Roosevelt hosted the spring state tournament from 1947-1954. It also hosted the spring state tournament from 1957-1959, 1964, and from 1967-1972.

Roosevelt Field had a major renovation in 2008. The Mohawk Booster Club raised $120,000 for the project, which included new red bleachers, repair to the cement structure and improved the drainage system.

Mason City and NIACC partnered and continues to renovate the facility. The first base dugout was expanded in 2012 and the third base dugout was expanded in 2013.

NIACC turned the space under the third base dugout into its clubhouse as well in 2013.
