MASON CITY - The NIACC baseball team swept an ICCAC doubleheader from Iowa Lakes on Friday at Roosevelt Field.
NIACC (22-30 overall, 14-18 in the ICCAC) won the first game 7-6 in eight innings on a walkoff single from Isaac Huettl. The Trojans won the second game 9-2.
In the first game, the Trojans rallied from a 6-0 deficit to claim the walk-off, extra-inning victory.
Iowa Lakes led 6-0 after scoring three runs in its half of the fourth inning.
The Trojans scored one run in the fourth inning, plated two runs in the fifth inning and tied the contest with three runs in the seventh inning.
NIACC's Trevor Hamil (3-2) pitched a scoreless eighth inning with two strikeouts to gain the win.
Alex Matchey led off the Trojans' eighth with a single and stole second base. Huettl then plated Matchey with the winning run with a two-out single to left field.
NIACC's Eli Anderson had three hits and Carter Dalton had two hits.
In the second game, NIACC jumped out to a 9-0 lead after five innings and only allowed two runs in the sixth inning.
The Trojans received a two-run homer from Charlie Harms in the third inning and a solo home run from Payton Fort in the fifth inning.
Trey Stocker and Harms both had three hits for the Trojans and Matchey had two hits.
John Lyman (3-3) gained the win for the Trojans. Lyman allowed no runs on one hit with three strikeouts and five walks in five innings of work.
NIACC and Iowa Lakes (11-41, 6-26) wrap up their three-game series and the regular season with a single nine-inning game at 1 p.m. Saturday at Roosevelt Field.
