NIACC's Dohrmann is ICCAC pitcher of week
MASON CITY - NIACC's Zach Dohrmann was selected as the ICCAC Division II pitcher of the week for the week of April 22-28.
Dohrmann, a sophomore right-hander, tossed a four-hit, complete-game shutout against Northeast CC in a 3-0 NIACC victory with four strikeouts and one walk.
It was Dohrmann's second complete-game shutout of the season. Dohrmann, who is from Farmington, Minn., also threw a complete-game shutout against Allen County CC in a 10-0 five-inning win on Feb. 10.
Dohrmann (3-5) has 51 strikeouts this season, which ranks 13th in the ICCAC. Dohrmann has 94 career strikeouts, which ranks 17th on the school's career strikeout list.
Dohrmann is the first NIACC pitcher to win the ICCAC pitcher of the week award since Jaiden Mollett won the award for the week of May 1-7, 2023.
NIACC (20-28 overall, 12-16 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday with an ICCAC twinbill at No. 8 Kirkwood (37-13, 18-10). The first game is slated for 1 p.m. in Cedar Rapids.
