BOONE - The NIACC baseball team split an ICCAC doubleheader with DMACC on Friday.
NIACC topped DMACC 7-4 in the first game and the Bears won the second game 13-10 with a 3-run walkoff home run from Cael Boever.
In the first game, Austin Klug (2-2) picked up the win on the mound for the Trojans. Klug struck out eight, walked one and allowed four runs on four hits in five innings of work.
NIACC (11-18 overall, 3-6 in the ICCAC) scored two runs in the first inning, two runs in the third inning and plated three runs in the fifth inning.
NIACC's Darcy Barry and Eli Anderson both collected three hits and Tyler Froland hit a two-run home run.
After Klug's five innings, Ollie Yuhas and Sam Cooper each threw a scoreless inning of relief. Cooper picked up his save of the season with his scoreless seventh inning.
In the second game, NIACC used an 8-run sixth inning to take a 10-4 lead. DMACC scored two runs in its half of the sixth frame to make it a 10-6 contest.
DMACC scored scored two runs in the seventh inning and two runs in the eighth inning to tie the game at 10-10.
NIACC did not score in its half of the ninth frame and Boever gave the Bears the 3-run win with his walkoff home run over the left field fence.
NIACC's Charlie Harms was 2 for 4, including a home run, with three RBIs. The Trojans' Alex Matchey was 3 for 5.
NIACC and DMACC (15-13, 3-5) wrap up their 3-game series with a single 9-inning game on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
