
Trojans fall to Warriors, 13-2
MASON CITY - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 13-2 decision to Indian Hills Monday afternoon at Roosevelt Field.
Indian Hills (28-10 overall) scored its 13 runs on 11 hits. The Warriors led 8-0 after three innings and were able to push across five more runs in their next four at-bats to end the scheduled nine-inning game after seven innings via the 10-run rule.
NIACC scored its two runs in the fifth inning on a two-run double by Payton Fort, who plated Trey Stocker and Sam Kwapnioski.
The Trojans left the bases loaded in the first inning and they left two runners on base in the second, fifth and sixth innings.
NIACC (14-25 overall, 6-13 in the ICCAC) returns to action Thursday in a single ICCAC contest at Kirkwood. Game time in Cedar Rapids is slated for 1 p.m.
