
NIACC's Fort earns ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY – NIACC's Payton Fort was selected as the ICCAC Division II baseball player of the week for the week of April 15-21.
Fort, a freshman from Council Bluffs, was 7 for 16, including three home runs, one double and one triple.
Fort also drove in 12 runs and scored five runs as the Trojans compiled a record of 3-1.
Fort is the second NIACC baseball player to earn the league's weekly honor. The Trojans' Eli Anderson won the award for the week of Feb. 12-18.
NIACC (17-26 overall, 9-14 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday with an ICCAC twinbill at Southwestern.
