MASON CITY - The NIACC baseball team wrapped up its regular season Saturday night with a 12-5 ICCAC victory over Iowa Lakes under the lights at Roosevelt Field.
NIACC (23-30 overall, 15-18 in the ICCAC) pounded out 13 hits to score its 12 runs as the Trojans completed the 3-game sweep over the Lakers. The Trojans received home runs from Isaac Huettl and Tyler Froland.
NIACC received two hits each from Sam Kwapnioski, Asa Rapp and Alex Matchey.
The Trojans scored two runs in the first inning, one run in the third and fourth frames, five runs in the fifth inning, two runs in the sixth inning and a single run in the seventh frame.
In the five-run fifth inning, the Trojans scored runs on consecutive squeeze bunts by Charlie Harms and Rapp.
NIACC opens NJCAA Region 11 tournament play on Thursday at Harlan Rogers Park in Fort Dodge.
