NIACC falls to DMACC, 7-0
- Anderson joins NIACC's 100-hit club
- Trojans host Ellsworth in home opener on Wednesday
BOONE - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 7-0 decision to DMACC Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest on the DMACC campus.
DMACC, which won the three-game series 2-1, scored one run in the first inning, three runs in the second inning and three runs in the seventh frame.
NIACC collected eight hits off two DMACC pitchers but could not push across a run. The Trojans stranded 14 runners in the nine-inning contest.
NIACC sophomore center fielder Eli Anderson was 3 for 4 and raised his career hit total to 102. Anderson is the 28th member of NIACC's 100-hit club.
Anderson's three-hit game was his sixth this season and 14th of his career.
Anderson's 102 career hits ties him with Bennett McCollow, who collected his 102 hits in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, for 26th on the school's all-time hit list. Hunter King (2012-13) ranks 25th with 104 career hits.
Also Friday, NIACC's Trey Stocker and Alex Matchey both collected two hits.
NIACC (11-19 overall, 3-7 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at home against Ellsworth in a single ICCAC contest. The Trojans' home opener is slated to start at 1 p.m. at Roosevelt Field.
