COUNCIL BLUFFS - The NIACC baseball team dropped an 11-3 decision to No. 4 (NJCAA Division I) Iowa Western on Saturday afternoon.
Iowa Western (22-5 overall, 5-0 in the ICCAC) scored two runs in each of the first three innings. The Reivers also scored three runs in the fifth inning and pushed across two runs in the eighth frame.
NIACC (9-16, 1-4) scored single runs in the first, third and ninth innings.
NIACC's Isaac Huettl was 2 for 4, including a double. The Trojans' leadoff hitter Trey Stocker was 1 for 3 and scored two runs.
The Trojans' Sam Schmidt contributed a pinch-hit, RBI double.
NIACC's Eli Anderson was 1 for 4 and scored a run. Anderson moved his career hit total to 95.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday with a Double Header at Indian Hills in Centerville. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m.
