FORT DODGE - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 10-6 decision to No. 6 (NJCAA Division II) Iowa Central Monday afternoon at Harlan Rogers Park.
Iowa Central (30-5 overall, 8-5 in the ICCAC) scored six runs in the fourth inning. The Tritons also scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings and pushed across two insurance runs in the eighth frame.
NIACC pushed across single runs in the fourth, fifth, eighth and ninth innings and scored two runs in the seventh frame.
NIACC's Tyler Froland, Sam Kwapnioski, Trett Joles and Darcy Barry all collected two hits. Froland, Kwapnioski and Barry each had a double.
The Trojans' Isaac Huettl drove in two runs.
NIACC (13-21, 5-9) returns to action Wednesday at home against Southwestern. The Trojans' home opener starts at 1 p.m. at Roosevelt Field.
