NIACC men's season summary
The NIACC men's basketball team compiled an overall record of 25-7 and 9-5 in the ICCAC.
The Trojans earned the fourth-seeed in the NJCAA Region XI tournament and advanced to the regional title game for the second straight season.
The Trojans knocked off top-seed Kirkwood 76-74 in the regional semifinals when sophomore guard Deundra Roberson connected on a shot in the lane at the buzzer.
DMACC nipped NIACC 82-80 in the regional finals to earn a berth in the NJCAA Division II national tournament, which was not played due to the Coronavirus.

NIACC 119, Hibbing CC 74 - Wendell Matthews scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Roberson scored 20 points.
NIACC 119, Bryant & Stratton (Wis.) 88 - Matthews scored 27 points with 19 rebounds. Roberson scored 25 points and James Harris scored 21 points.

NIACC 100, Kansas City (Kan.) CC 95 - Matthews scored 25 points with 10 rebounds and four blocked shots. Trey Sampson scored 18 points and Quentin Hardrict and Roberson both scored 17 points.
NIACC 120, Quakerdale Prep Academy 62 - Roberson scored 37 points. Payton Breedlove scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Sampson scored 18 points.
NIACC 105, Luther College JV 58 (H) - Matthews scored 22 points with 13 rebounds. Roberson scored 14 points with 6 assists and 7 steals. Chandler Dean scored 13 points.
NIACC 144, Grinnell College JV 107 (H) - The Trojans set a school-record for points in a game. Breedlove scored 24 points with 7 rebounds and Roberson scored 21 points.
NIACC 120, Wartburg College JV 107 (H) - Roberson scored a career-high 45 points. Sampson scored 23 points, Dean scored 19 points and Matthews scored 10 points with 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocked shots.

NIACC 111, Central CC-Columbus 82 - Roberson scored 24 points. Sampson scored 22 points, Matthews scored 17 points and Dean scored 17 points with 8 rebounds.

NIACC 113, Southwestern 78 (H) - Sampson scored 20 points with 14 rebounds. Roberson scored 18 points as the Trojans put 6 players in double figures.
NIACC 76, Kirkwood 74 (A) - The Trojans moved to the regional finals for the second straight season. Roberson hit a shot in the lane at the buzzer to give the Trojans the 2-point victory. Hardrict, who assisted on the game-winning basket, scored 19 points with 7 assists. Matthews scored 18 points and Sampson scored 16 points with 15 rebounds.
DMACC 82, NIACC 80 (A) - Roberson scored 26 points. Sampson scored 20 points with 10 rebounds. Roberson and Sampson were selected to the all-tournament team.
