NIACC men ranked 4th in latest poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's basketball team is ranked fourth in the NJCAA Division II poll released Monday.
NIACC (12-1 overall, 1-0 in ICCAC) split a pair of games at the JCCC Classic last weekend. The Trojans, who were ranked No. 1 in the Dec. 9 poll, dropped a 76-72 decision to No. 7 Johnson County CC and topped Highland CC (Kan.), which was ranked 19th in last week's poll, 85-75.
North Central Missouri College (13-1) is ranked No. 1 in this week's poll. It is the fourth No. 1 team in NJCAA Divsion II this season.
No. 12 Kirkwood (10-3) was No. 1 in the Oct. 21 preseason poll. Johnson County CC was ranked No. 1 for four polls before NIACC held the top spot for one week.
Niagara County (12-1) is ranked second and Milwaukee Area Tech (12-1) is ranked third.
DMACC (11-2) is ranked fifth and Iowa Lakes (11-3) is ranked 18th.
NIACC returns to action on Jan. 4 at home against Iowa Western. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
