
NIACC men top SWCC, 94-76
MASON CITY - NIACC topped Southwestern 94-76 in an ICCAC men's basketball contest on Saturday afternoon in the NIACC gym.
Sophomore Deundra Roberson led the Trojans with 25 points as he became the 11th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. Roberson now has 1,008 career points, which ranks 11th on the school's career scoring list.
Also for NIACC (23-6 overall, 9-5 in ICCAC), Trey Sampson scored 23 points and Wendell Matthews scored 22 points.
Sampson also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. Chandler Dean scored eight points and collected 11 rebounds.
NIACC, which is the fourth seed, hosts fifth-seed Southwestern in a first-round NJCAA Region XI tournament game at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
