No. 6 NIACC men cruise past Quakerdale Prep, 120-62
MASON CITY - Another game, another 100-point performance.
The No. 6 NIACC men's basketball team routed the Quakerdale Prep Academy 120-56 on Saturday in the final game of the Konigsmark Klassic. It is the fourth straight game to start the 2019-20 season that the Trojans have scored at least 100 points.
It is the first time a NIACC men's basketball team has started the season with at least 100 points in four straight games since the 1971-72 season under then fifth-year coach Herb Konigsmark. The 120 points is the third most in the Mark Mohl era.
Sophomore guard Deundra Roberson led NIACC with a career-high 37 points, including 33 in the first half. The 37 points is tied for the seventh most in a single game in NIACC men's basketball history.
NIACC also received 22 points and 12 rebounds from freshman Payton Breedlove. Sophomore Trey Sampson scored 18 points and Anthony McDade scored 14 points with eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals.
