No. 3 NIACC men cruise, 111-82
FORT DODGE - Still perfect.
The No. 3 NIACC men's basketball team improved its record to 8-0 with a 111-82 victory over Central CC (Neb.) on Friday at the Great Western Shootout on the NIACC campus.
It is the eighth straight game to start the season that the Trojans have scored at least 100 points. NIACC's lowest output this season came in a 100-95 victory over Kansas City (Kan.) CC on the opening night of the Konigsmark Klassic.
The NIACC men are off to their best start to a season since the 2009-10 team started 9-0.
NIACC was led by sophomore Deundra Roberson with 24 points.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Trey Sampson scored 22 points with 14 rebounds. It was Sampson's first double/double of the season and third of his career.
NIACC's Chandler Dean scored 17 points with eight rebounds, Wendell Matthews scored 17 points and James Harris scored 12 points.
NIACC returns to action Saturday against Northeast CC at the Great Western Shootout. Game time is slated for 2 p.m.
