
Trojans fall to North Platte CC, 74-60
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. - The NIACC women's basketball team dropped a 74-60 decision to North Platte CC Saturday afternoon in the NJCAA North Central A District title game on the North Platte CC campus.
NIACC (25-7) led 27-9 after the first quarter, but North Platte CC outscored the Trojans 48-20 over the next two quarters to take control of the contest. North Platte CC now advances to the NJCAA Division II national tournament March 17-22 in Joplin, Mo.
Nevaeh Golden led the Knights with 26 points and six rebounds. Also for the Knights, Jada Thompson scored 17 points with eight rebounds.
NIACC was led by sophomore Tori Miller with 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Freshman Reggi Spotts scored 14 points with 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Also for the Trojans, sophomore Karly Holm scored 13 points with five rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot. Sophomore Keeley Steele scored seven points with five rebounds, four assists, three steals and one blocked shot.
NIACC freshman Tayler Helgemoe had six rebounds, three blocked shots and two assists.
