
Trojans remain 11th in national poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team remained 11th in the latest NJCAA Division II poll released on Monday.
NIACC (7-1 overall) was 11th in the Nov. 18 poll. The Trojans were 10th in the Oct. 21 preseason poll and 10th in the Nov. 12 poll.
NIACC has won five straight games since dropping a 81-77 decision to No. 20 (NJCAA Division I) North Dakota State College of Science on Nov. 8 in Wahpeton, N.D.
In the five-game win streak, the Trojans have scored at least 100 points in all five of the wins. The Trojans picked up a pair of wins last weekend at home in the Iowa/Nebraska Challenge against Central CC-Columbus (105-59) and Southeast CC (107-51).
Kirkwood is ranked No. 1 and DMACC is ranked No. 23,
NIACC opens the ICCAC season Nov. 30 at Ellsworth. Game time in Iowa Falls is slated for 1 p.m.
