
NIACC's Miller earns ICCAC player of week honor
- Miller wins ICCAC weekly award for 3rd time
- It's 9th time this season a Trojan has won award
- Miller leads ICCAC with 125 assists
MASON CITY - For the third time this season, NIACC sophomore forward Tori Miller has been selected as the ICCAC women's basketball player of the week for the week of Feb. 17-23.
Miller, who is from Goodhue, Minn., also won the award for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3 and for the week of Jan. 20-26. She also won the award three times during her freshman season.
It is the ninth time this season that a Trojan has been honored as the ICCAC women's basketball player of the week.
Other NIACC winners this season have been Sonya Potthoff (Nov. 11-17), Alexis Schroeder (Nov. 18-24 and Dec. 2-8) and Reggi Spotts (Dec. 9-15) and Keeley Steele (Jan. 6-12 and Feb. 10-16).
Last week, Miller scored 36 points and collected 18 rebounds in the Trojans' wins over Marshalltown CC and DMACC.
Against Marshalltown, Miller had 10 rebounds, eight points and six assists.
In the Trojans' crucial 73-56 win over DMACC, Miller scored 28 points with eight rebounds, four steals and three assists.
Miller is averaging 17.1 points per game, which ranks fifth in the ICCAC. She leads the league with 125 assists and ranks 14th in rebounds per game (6.5).
NIACC (22-6 overall, 12-5 in the ICCAC) wraps up its regular season at Iowa Lakes on Wednesday. Game time in Estherville is slated for 5:30 p.m.
The NJCAA Region 11 tournament starts on Saturday.
Notes: Miller ranks in the top 40 in four NIACC career statistical categories ... Miller has 849 career points (12th on school's career list), 246 career assists (6th on school's career list), 360 career rebounds (20th on school's career list) and 108 career steals (tied for 38th on school's career list).
