CEDAR RAPIDS - The NIACC women's basketball team dropped a 86-58 decision to No. 1 Kirkwood Saturday afternoon in an ICCAC contest.
Kirkwood (23-0 overall, 13-0 in the ICCAC) led 43-36 at the half. The Eagles outscored the Trojans 43-22 in the second half to win for the 65th straight time at home.
The Eagles were led by Jenna Twedt with a game-high 27 points, including seven 3-point goals. Kaliyah Sain was next in line for the Eagles with 19 points.
NIACC (17-6, 8-5) was led by freshman Reggi Spotts with 19 points, including a career-high five 3-point goals. Spotts also had four rebounds and one assist.
Also for the Trojans, freshman Kelsey McDonough scored nine points on three 3-point goals. Tori Miller and Keeley Steele both scored eight points.
Steele led the Trojans with nine rebounds and also added two assists and two steals.
NIACC returns to action Saturday, Feb. 8 with a non-conference contest at Madison College. Game time in Madison, Wis. is set for 1 p.m.
