
NIACC's Miller earns ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY - For the second time this season and the fifth time in her career, NIACC's Tori Miller has been selected as the ICCAC women's basketball player of the week.
Miller, a sophomore forward from Goodhue, Minn., shared the award for the week of Jan. 20-26 with Iowa Lakes' Gracelyn Deputy.
Miller also won the award this season for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3. Miller won the ICCAC weekly award three times during her freshman season (Nov. 20-26, 2023, Dec. 11-17, 2023 and Jan. 22-28, 2024).
It is the seventh time this season that a NIACC women's basketball player has earned the ICCAC player of the week award. Other NIACC winners this season have been Sonya Potthoff (Nov. 11-17), Alexis Schroeder (Nov. 18-24 and Dec. 2-8), Reggi Spotts (Dec. 9-15) and Keeley Steele (Jan. 6-12).
Miller recently became the second player in NIACC women's basketball history with 700 career points, 300 career rebounds and 200 career assists.
Last week, Miller scored 15 points with seven assists, six rebounds and four steals in a 71-36 win over Southwestern CC. She also scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 66-60 win over Northeast CC.
Miller is averaging 17.5 points per game, which is second in the ICCAC.
NIACC (17-4 overall, 8-3 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at home against Ellsworth (17-3, 8-2) in a battle for second place in the ICCAC. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 5:30 p.m.
