
No. 10 Trojans roll in opener, 97-31
MASON CITY - The No. 10 NIACC women's basketball team rolled to a 97-31 victory over Wilbur Wright College Friday night at the Konigsmark Klassic in the NIACC gym.
It is the fourth straight season that the Trojans have won their season opener. The 97 points in the season opener is the most since the 2019-20 season when the Trojans topped the Grand View University Junior Varsity 97-86.
NIACC led 25-4 after the first quarter and led 51-16 at the half.
Sophomore Tori Miller led three Trojans in double figures with 17 points. Sophomore Alexis Schroeder scored 14 points and freshman Reggi Spotts scored 12 points.
Miller, Spotts, Lily Rhomberg and Grace Berding all collected five rebounds to lead the Trojans. Spotts also had five steals and four assists.
The Trojans' Keeley Steele scored seven points, with five assists and four steals.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at 3 p.m. against Elgin CC.
