
NIACC's Schroeder earns ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY - For the third time this season, a NIACC women's basketball player has been selected as the ICCAC player of the week.
NIACC sophomore guard Alexis Schroeder, who is from Caledonia, Minn., was selected as the league's player of the week for the week of Nov. 18-24.
Also this season, NIACC's Tori Miller won the league's weekly honor for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3 and Sonya Potthoff was the league's winner for the week of Nov. 11-17.
Schroeder connected on 10 3-point goals last week to move into 16th place on the school's career 3-point list with 88. She made four 3-pointers against the Waldorf University Junior Varsity and three each against Central CC-Columbus and Southeast CC.
Schroeder scored a career-high 30 points in the Trojans' 118-53 win over the Waldorf University Junior Varsity. She also scored 19 points against Central CC-Columbus and 13 points against Southeast CC.
She also contributed 14 assists and 13 steals in the Trojans' three wins last week.
No. 11 NIACC (7-1 overall) opens the ICCAC season on Saturday against Ellsworth. Game time in Iowa Falls is slated for 1 p.m.
