FORT DODGE - The NIACC softball team swept an ICCAC twinbill from Iowa Central on Saturday at Harlan Rogers Park.
NIACC won the first game 5-4 and completed the sweep with an 8-5 win in the second game.
In the opener, Izzy Sloan (8-3) gained the win in the circle for the Trojans. She allowed three earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.
NIACC sophomore Emily Jones was 3 for 3, including a home run, with three RBIs.
In the second game, NIACC's Madisyn Kelley, Madisyn Bauer and Vanessa Koehler all drove in two runs.
The Trojans had four extra-base hits, including a home run from Koehler. Sloan, Bauer and Katy Olive all had doubles for the Trojans.
Freshman Macy Kellar (13-4) started for the Trojans and allowed five earned runs with six strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings of work. The Trojans' Brynn Stalberger relieved Kellar and did not allow a run in 2 1/3 innings of work with four strikeouts.
NIACC (27-17 overall, 16-4 in the ICCAC) returns to action Sunday at home against Ellsworth in an ICCAC twinbill. The first game on the NIACC campus is slated for noon.
