MASON CITY - The No. 16 NIACC softball team dropped an ICCAC doubleheader to No. 7 DMACC on Wednesday on the NIACC campus.
DMACC (34-4 overall, 12-1 in the ICCAC) won the first game 4-2 and completed the sweep with a 6-3 win in the second game.
In the first game, Katie Riesselman hit a solo home run for the Trojans in the sixth inning.
Sophomore right-hander Izzy Sloan took the loss in the circle for the Trojans. She allowed four runs (three earned) with nine strikeouts.
Also for the Trojans, Makayla Wirkus had a double.
In the second game, Wirkus provided the offense for the Trojans with a three-run home run.
NIACC (22-14, 7-5) returns to action Thursday at home against Iowa Western.
