
Trojans ranked 15th in latest poll
- NIACC ranked for 7th straight poll
- Trojans open league play 3-1
- Trojans set to play Wednesday at Iowa Lakes
MASON CITY - The NIACC softball team is ranked No. 15 in the NJCAA Division II poll released on Monday.
NIACC (18-10 overall, 3-1 in the ICCAC) opened the ICCAC season last week with two wins over Northeast CC. The Trojans also split a twinbill with No. 19 Iowa Central (21-4).
St. Johns River State College (34-9) is ranked No. 1 and Murray State College (31-1) is ranked No. 2.
Other ICCAC teams in the March 31 rankings are No. 7 DMACC (26-3) and No. 12 Kirkwood (26-8).
It is the seventh consecutive poll this season that the Trojans have been in the national rankings. The Trojans were No. 14 in the March 17 and March 24 polls.
NIACC is scheduled to play an ICCAC twinbill at Iowa Lakes on Wednesday. The first game in Estherville is slated to start at 2 p.m.
