
NIACC stays at No. 17 in latest rankings
MASON CITY - The NIACC softball team remained at No. 17 in the latest NJCAA Division II rankings released Monday.
NIACC (28-8 overall, 12-2 in the ICCAC) has won 11 straight games heading into Tuesday's home doubleheader against Ellsworth. The Trojans swept Ellsworth in a twinbill on Friday (14-1 and 13-0 - both in five innings).
Murray State (40-0) is ranked No. 1 and Louisburg (45-2) is ranked second.
DMACC (33-7) is ranked eighth and Kirkwood (33-12) is ranked No. 16. Iowa Lakes, which was No. 20 in the April 10 rankings, received votes in the Monday poll.
NIACC hosts Ellsworth in a twinbill on Tuesday starting at 2:30 p.m. The Trojans also host Indian Hills on Thursday in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
