EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The No. 15 NIACC softball team moved its record to 14-2 with a pair of victories Saturday at the Midwest Bash Juco Classic.
NIACC stopped Olney Central College 18-2 in five innings and routed Shawnee CC 16-6 in six innings.
NIACC hit a total of seven home runs in the two games. The Trojans hit three home runs against Olney Central and had four home runs against Shawnee CC.
In the win over Olney Central, the Trojans received home runs from Katy Olive, Sydney Toman and Shaye Theobald. The Trojans plated 12 runs in the second inning.
The 18 runs was more than enough for sophomore right-hander Laken Lienhard (4-0). Lienhard allowed two runs on five hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
Lienhard was also 3 for 3 at the plate, including a double and triple, with three RBIs.
In the win over Shawnee CC, the Trojans received home runs from Olive, Toman and two from Theobald.
NIACC's Ravyn Krachey was 3 for 3, Toman was 3 for 4, Brynnlin Kroymann was 3 for 5 and Theobald drove in four runs.
Brynn Stalberger (5-2) gained the win for NIACC in the circle. Stalberger allowed six runs on eight hits iwth two strikeouts and no walks.
NIACC returns to action Sunday at the Midwest Bash Juco Classic. The Trojans face Three Rivers CC at 10 a.m. and take on Jefferson CC at noon.
