
NIACC's Olive earns ICCAC player of week honor
MASON CITY - NIACC's Katy Olive was selected as the ICCAC Division II softball player of the week for the week of March 6-12.
Olive, a freshman shortstop from Minneapolis, Minn., was 9 for 21 with four home runs and a double in six games last weekend at the Midwest Classic Juco Bash in Evansville, Ind.
She also scored 10 runs and stole five bases.
Olive is the fifth different NIACC softball player to earn the league's weekly honor. Brynn Stalberger (pitcher) and Emily Jones (player) were honored for the week of Jan. 30-Feb. 5 and Laken Lienhard (pitcher) and Ravyn Krachey (player) were honored for the week of Feb. 20-26.
No. 18 NIACC (15-5) returns to action Wednesday in a pair of games in Overland Park, Kan.
