No, 15 Trojans drop pair at Midwest Bash Juco Classic
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The No. 15 NIACC softball team dropped a pair of contests Sunday at the Midwest Bash Juco Classic.
NIACC (14-4) dropped a 11-7 decision to Three Rivers CC and fell to Jefferson CC 17-12.
In the game against Three Rivers CC, NIACC pounded out 15 hits to score its seven runs. The Trojans scored single runs in the third and sixth innings, pushed across two runs in the fifth inning and plated three runs in the seventh inning.
NIACC's Brynnlin Kroymann was 3 for 5, including a home run, with two RBIs and she also scored three runs. Katy Olive and Ravyn Krachey also both homered for the Trojans.
Olive, Laken Lienhard, Emily Jones, Brianna McPoland and Molly McGuire all had two hits each for the Trojans. Both of Lienhard's hits were doubles.
In the game against Jefferson CC, NIACC gave up a season-high number of runs in the loss commiting six errors. Jefferson CC scored seven runs in the fifth inning.
NIACC scored three runs in the first inning, one run in the second inning, four runs in the fourth inning and four runs in the fifth inning.
Lienhard and Olive both homered for the Trojans. Olive, Kroymann and Krachey all had two hits for the Trojans.
Olive drove in three runs. Lienhard, Krachey and McGuire all drove in two runs.
NIACC returns to action Saturday in a doubleheader at Kansas City (Kan.) CC.
