
NIACC softball team moves up to No. 15
MASON CITY - The NIACC softball team moved up two spots to No. 15 in the latest NJCAA Division II rankings.
NIACC, which was No. 17 in the Feb. 27 rankings, split a doubleheader with Iowa Western on Sunday. The Trojans (11-1) suffered their first loss of the season in the opener (13-8) and bounced back with a 14-9 victory in the second game.
Murray State (22-0) is ranked No. 1 and Phoenix (16-4) is ranked second.
DMACC (7-2) is ranked third and Kirkwood (10-4) is ranked 11th.
NIACC returns to action March 10-12 where the Trojans will play six games at the Midwest Bash Juco Classic in Evansville, Ind.
