
NIACC moves up to No. 17 in latest rankings
MASON CITY - After two weeks at No. 20 in the NJCAA Division II rankings, the NIACC softball team moved up three spots to No. 17 in the poll released Monday.
NIACC (26-8 overall, 10-2 in the ICCAC) has won nine straight games, including back-to-back four-game sweeps of Iowa Central and Northeas CC.
Murray State (38-0) is ranked No. 1 and Northwest Mississippi (24-2) is ranked second.
DMACC (29-7) is ranked ninth, Kirkwood (32-9) is ranked No. 13 and Iowa Lakes (24-10) is ranked No. 20.
NIACC returns to action Friday and Saturday at home with a four-game series against Ellsworth.
