MASON CITY - The No. 20 NIACC softball team picked up two more ICCAC wins over Iowa Central on Monday on the NIACC campus.
NIACC topped the Tritons 12-6 in the first game and won the second game 10-9 on a walk-off home run from Laken Lienhard, who also collected her 100th career hit.
NIACC (22-8 overall, 6-2 in the ICCAC) swept the Tritons 8-7 and 2-0 on Sunday. Iowa Central fell to 15-16, 4-4.
NIACC sophomore right-hander Laken Lienhard gained the win in all four games of the series against Iowa Central.
In the first game, Lienhard, who won both games on Sunday, allowed four earned runs with five strikeouts. She was also 2 for 3 at the plate, including a double with two RBIs.
Also for the Trojans in the opener, Brynnlin Kroymann, Emily Jones and Brianna McPoland all collected two hits. Jones and Shaye Theobald, who had three RBIs, both homered for the Trojans.
In the second game, NIACC hit four home runs, including Lienhard's walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. Jones, Katy Olive and Sydney Toman, who had three RBIs.
Lienhard, Olive and Toman all had two hits for the Trojans in the second game.
Lienhard (11-2) pitched a scoreless seventh inning before hitting her walk-off home run in the bottom half of the frame.
Lienhard now has 103 career hits as she became the 14th player in school history in the 100-hit club.Kacie Sherwood (123 career hits) and Alyssa Laxson (107 career hits) were the last two Trojans to join the exclusive hit club in the 2019 season.
NIACC returns to action Friday and Saturday with a four-game series at Northeast CC in Norfolk, Neb.
