NIACC men's wrestling team falls to SW Minnesota State, 31-11
MARSHALL, Minn. - The NIACC men's wrestling team dropped a 31-11 decision to Southwest Minnesota State in a non-league dual meet Thursday night.
NIACC won four of the seven contested matches. Southwest Minnesota State picked up forfeif wins at 125 pounds, 133 pounds and 141 pounds.
Winning matches for the Trojans were Hansel Pompa (157), Emmanuel Celestin (165), Macray Klohs (197) and Xander Kenworthy (285).
At 157 pounds, Pompa (10-5) took a 19-12 decision from Cade Lierman.
At 165 pounds, Celestin (9-6) edged Caden Young, 11-9. Celestin has won seven straight matches.
At 197 pounds, Klohs (12-3) gained a 7-1 decision over Kody Marschner. Klohs has won four straight matches
At 285 pounds, Kenworthy (12-8) topped Evan Thompson, 5-2. Kenworthy has won six straight matches.
NIACC returns to action Tuesday in a dual meet against Ellsworth in Iowa Falls. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
