
Trojans ranked 11th in latest men's wrestling poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's wrestling team is ranked 11th in the latest NJCAA Division I poll released this week.
NIACC is 2-1 in duals so far this season. The Trojans dropped a 29-14 decision to No. 3 Indian Hills and topped No. 20 Iowa Lakes 35-9 and downed Minnesota CTC 47-9.
Western Wyoming is ranked No. 1 and Clackamas is ranked No. 2.
Indian Hills is No. 3 and Iowa Central is ranked fourth. Iowa Western is ranked No. 17, Hawkeye CC and Iowa Lakes are tied for 20th.
In the individual national rankings, NIACC's Cordell White is ranked No. 1 at 149 pounds, Jessey Colas is ranked third at 184 pounds and Macray Klohs is ninth at 197 pounds.
White, a sophomore from Homestead, Fla., is 8-0 with two falls and two technical falls. White, who placed third at last year's national tournament at 149 pounds, has a career record of 23-4 with 12 falls, four technical falls and one major decision.
Colas, a sophomore from Bradenton, Fla., is 10-1 this season with 1 fall, four technical falls and two major decision. Colas, a national qualifier a year ago, has a career mark of 26-5 with two falls, eight technical falls and two major decisions.
Klohs, a freshman from Buffalo, Minn., is 8-3 this season with four falls, one technical fall and one major decision.
NIACC returns to action Jan. 4 in NIACC's Battle for the Helmet in the NIACC recreation center.
