No. 7 Trojans fall to No. 2 Warriors, 29-14
MASON CITY - The No. 7 NIACC men's wrestling team dropped a 29-14 decision to No. 2 Indian Hills in an ICCAC dual meet Wednesday evening in the NIACC Recreation Center.
NIACC (0-1 in duals) picked up wins from Luis Acevedo at 125 pounds, Cordell White at 149 pounds and Jessey Colas at 184 pounds.
Acevedo (4-2 with three falls and one major decision) pinned the Warriors' third-ranked Isaac Gibbs in 2 minutes, 15 seconds to give the Trojans' a 6-0 lead in the dual.
White, who is ranked No. 1 at 149 pounds, edged the Warriors' fourth-ranked Yaveion Freeman 4-2 with a late third period takedown. White improved his season record to 6-0 and his career mark to 21-4.
Colas, who is ranked fifth at 184 pounds, picked up a 16-1 technical fall over the Warriors' Elisha Faison. Colas is 6-0 on the season and has a career mark of 22-4.
NIACC returns to action Nov. 20 in an ICCAC dual meet at Iowa Lakes. Match time in Estherville is slated for 7 p.m.
