
Trojans top Luther JV, 3-0
DECORAH - The NIACC volleyball team topped the Luther College Junior Varsity 3-0 Friday night in a non-conference contest.
The Trojans (9-11 overall) won 25-18, 25-21, 25-15.
"Matches like this are fun, especially, when we get a chance to put all healthy bodies in the game," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "The team did a nice job working on implementing a few things from practice, especially for our offense.
"We need to continue to push hard to grow but for now we get to enjoy a weekend off and back to work on Monday."
In Friday's match, sophomore Addison Tabbert had six kills and six digs, sophomore Alicia Machacek had six kills, freshman Emma Miller had six kills, five digs and one block and freshman Hannah Brinkman had six kills and one block.
Also for the Trojans, Kinsey Anderson had 15 digs, three ace serves and two assists. Destiny Reasner had four digs, one assist and one ace serve and Ellie Hanna had five kills, two digs and one ace serve.
NIACC's Megan Tobin had two kills, two digs and one block, Kenedee Frayne had 10 assists, nine digs and one kill, Kit Byars had four kills and four blocks and Emily Opstvedt had 14 assists, four digs, one ace serve and one kill.
NIACC returns to action Tuesday at home in an ICCAC contest against Western Iowa Tech. Match time in the NIACC gym is slated for 7 p.m.
