MARSHALLTOWN - The NIACC volleyball team picked up a pair of wins at the Marshalltown CC Tiger Invitational on Friday.
NIACC (5-6 overall) stopped Coffeyville CC 3-0 winning by the scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-13.
The Trojans, who have won three straight matches, also topped Fort Scott CC 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-14).
"(Friday) was, honestly, just a fun day watching these ladies compete," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "So many positives and growth opportunities throughout both matches.
"Our defense gave us many opportunities to stay in rallies while our setters did a great job moving the ball around on offense."
NIACC sophomore Ellie Hanna had 14 kills and 11 blocks and freshman Megan Tobin had 14 kills, four digs and three blocks.
The Trojans' Emily Opstvedt had 22 assists, 12 digs and four ace serves and Kenedee Frayne had 22 assists, six digs and five ace serves.
Also for the Trojans, Kinsey Anderson had 25 digs, six assists and two ace serves, Addison Tabbert had nine digs, seven ace serves and five kills, Alicia Machacek had seven kills and three blocks and Emma Miller had three digs and two kills.
NIACC's Kit Byars had seven blocks, two digs and one ace serve, Hannah Brinkman had nine kills and eight blocks and Alana Burton had three kills and one block.
The Trojans return to action Saturday with two more matches at the Tiger Invitational.
