
NIACC's Schwiesow earns ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY - NIACC sophomore Kennedy Schwiesow was selected as the ICCAC Division II volleyball player of the week for the week of Oct. 9-15.
Schwiesow, a libero from St. Ansgar, recorded 74 digs as the Trojans in three matches as they gained wins over Iowa Lakes and Marshalltown CC.
Against Marshalltown CC, Schwiesow recorded a career-best 35 digs.
Schwiesow, who has 751 career digs, has 515 digs this season, which ranks sixth in the ICCAC.
The 751 career digs by Schwiesow ranks eighth on the school's career digs list.
Schwiesow is the first NIACC volleyball player to win ICCAC player of the week honors since Kyla Moore was the league's player of the week for the week of Oct. 3-9, 2022.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Northeast CC on sophomore night. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
