
Five former Trojans playing at 4-year level
Five former NIACC volleyball players are competing at the four-year level in the 2023-24 school year.
Three members of last season's NIACC squad (Kyla Moore, Jade Thomas, Abby Suiter) have continued their playing careers and two players from the 2021 NIACC team (Grace Tobin and Halsie Keltner) are still competing at four-year schools.
Moore is playing at Kansas Wesleyan University, a NAIA school in Salina, Kan. Thomas is playing beach volleyball at Saint Leo University, a NCAA Division II school in Saint Leo, Fla., and Suiter is at Dickinson State University, a NAIA school in Dickinson, N.D.
Moore has 10 kills, four blocks and one dig in two matches this season for Kansas Wesleyan (2-0).
Kansas Wesleyan returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Hastings Classic in Hastings, Neb. The Coyotes face Suiter and Dickinson State University at 7 p.m. Friday.
Saint Leo University's beach volleyball season begins in February.
Tobin was an alll-region selection at Presentation College, a NAIA school in Aberdeen, S.D., in 2022 and transfered to Northwestern College, a NAIA school in Orange City, after Presentation College closed its doors in the spring of 2023.
Northwestern started the 2023 season with a pair of wins with Tobin recording a total of seven kills.
Keltner played at Trinity International College, a NAIA school in Deerfield, Ill., in 2022 and transferred to Northwest University, a NAIA school in Kirkland, Wash., for the 2023 season. Trinity International College closed in the spring of 2023.
