NIACC's DeLong earns ICCAC women's golfer of week honor
MASON CITY - NIACC freshman Meghan DeLong was selected as the ICCAC Division II women's golfer of the week for the week of March 31-April 6.
It is the fifth time that DeLong, the former Clear Lake High standout, has been selected as the ICCAC women's golfer of the week. She also won the award for the weeks of Sept. 16-22, Sept. 23-29, Sept. 30-Oct. 6 and Oct. 14-20.
DeLong won the Hawkeye CC Redtail Spring Shootout on April 3 with a 78 at the Irv Warren Memorial Golf Course in Waterloo.
It was DeLong's seventh individual title in her first season as a Trojan. DeLong won six individual titles in NIACC's fall season.
The 78 by DeLong was her ninth career round in the 70s. It was also the 16th individual title for the NIACC wmen's golf program in the Chris Frenz era, which started in 2006.
