
NIACC's DeLong wins ICCAC weekly award for 4th time
MASON CITY - NIACC's Meghan DeLong was selected as the ICCAC women's golfer of the week for the fourth time this fall.
DeLong, a freshman from from Clear Lake, won the award for the week of Oct. 14-20 after closing out her fall season with a victory at the Grand View University Fall Invitational in Ankeny on Oct. 14. DeLong shot rounds of 70-76 - 146 to win for trhe sixth time in eight events this fall.
The round of 70 was the lowest round in the Chris Frenz era, which began in 2006.
DeLong also won the league's top weekly award during the weeks of Sept. 16-22, Sept. 23-29 and Sept. 30-Oct. 6.
DeLong also won individual medalist honors this fall at the NIACC Invitational, Buena Vista Fall Invitational, Waldorf Fall Invitational, Waldorf Challenge and the Hawkeye CC Redtail Fall Classic.
