
NIACC's DeLong earns ICCAC weekly honor
MASON CITY - NIACC freshman Meghan DeLong was selected as the ICCAC women's golfer of the week for the week of Sept. 16-22.
DeLong, who prepped at Clear Lake, won the NIACC Fall Invitational and the Buena Vista Fall Invitational in her second and third collegiate tournaments.
DeLong won the NIACC Fall Invitational with a round of 73 to win by two shots. The round of 73 tied the best round in the Chris Frenz era, which began in 2006. DeLong fired rounds of 78-77 - 155 at the Buena Vista Fall Invitational and won the tournament with a par in the one-hole playoff.
NIACC returns to action Friday at the DMACC's Jim Curell Invitational in Boone.
