Trojans' DeLong places 4th at Graceland Invitational
MARYVILLE, Mo. - NIACC freshman Meghan DeLong placed fourth Saturday at the Graceland Spring Invitational at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course.
DeLong placed fourth with rounds of 87-80 - 167. Park's Anna Corsen was the individual medalist with rounds of 83-74 - 157 and Park's Micaela Suhl was the runner-up with rounds of 83-77 - 160.
NIACC placed fifth in the team standings with rounds of 410-365 - 775. Park was the team champion with rounds of 342-313 - 655 and Mount Marty was second with rounds of 359-341 - 700.
"It was a much better day for us (Saturday) as conditions helped," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "Meghan DeLong was solid (Saturday). The wind picked up mid-round, but she definitely struck the ball better (Saturday) and putted better."
Also for the Trojans. Addy Boell shot rounds of 99-95 - 194, Ashlyn Berven shot 110-97 - 207, Danielle Randick shot 114-96 - 210, Kenedee Frayne shot 118-94 - 212 and Kaiya Holten shot 105-118 - 223.
"I really love the comeback by Kenedee Frayne (Saturday) after a very rough outing (Friday). I also liked how Danielle Randick got her way around the course (Saturday)," Frenz said. "Ashlyn Berven is really close to breaking through and Addy Boell's game is coming on, too."
NIACC returns to action Thursday at the Hawkeye CC Spring Invitational at the Irv Warren Memorial Golf Course in Waterloo.
