NIACC's DeLong sits in 5th after first day at Graceland Invite
MARYVILLE, Mo. - NIACC's Meghan DeLong shot an 87 and is tied for fifth after the first day of the Graceland Invitational at the Mozingo Lake Golf Course.
Park's Anna Corsen and Micaela Suhl are tied for first with rounds of 83s.
"Meghan DeLong is right there and I feel will challenge the tournament leaders (Saturday)," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "She, obviously, wasn't very pleased with her score, but when you look at the entirety of the tournament, she's right there. She birdied two of the last five holes."
NIACC is in fifth place with a first-day total of 410. Also for the Trojans, Addy Boell shot 99, Ashlyn Berven shot 110, Danielle Randick shot 114 and Kenedee Frayne shot 118. NIACC's Kaiya Holten a 105 playng as an individual.
"Addy Boell really played well (Friday)," Frenz said, "but had one really tough hole that saw her score soar. But overall, I like her fight.
"Kaiya Holten, who was playing as an individual, shot a nice round on a difficult course and really wicked conditions. We'll come out and get after it (Saturday)."
