
NIACC faces No. 5 Reivers in regional title game

- NIACC/Iowa Western winner faces United Tribes Tech in district final
COUNCIL BLUFFS - The NIACC women's basketball game faces No. 5 Iowa Western in the NJCAA Region 11-B title game Monday night.
Game time at Iowa Western is slated for 5:30 p.m.
The winner of the NJCAA Region 11-B title game faces NJCAA Region 13 champion United Tribes Tech in the NJCAA North Central-B District Championship at 1 p.m. Saturday in Bismarck, N.D. The winner of the district title game qualifies for the NJCAA Division II national tournament March 18-23 in Joplin, Mo.
United Tribes Tech (13-16) topped Gogebic Community College 90-71 in the NJCAA Region 13 title game on Sunday.
NIACC (23-7) opened NJCAA Region 11-B tournament play with a 64-51 victory over Northeast CC last Saturday in the NIACC gym.
Iowa Western (29-2) moved to the regional title game with a 78-52 win over Southwestern CC last Saturday in Council Bluffs.
Iowa Western won both regular season contests against NIACC. The Reivers won 76-63 on Dec. 9 in Mason City and 79-63 on Feb. 3 in Council Bluffs.
NIACC is led in the scoring department by freshmen Madison Hillman and Tori Miller. Hillman averages 13.8 points per game (10th in ICCAC) and Miller averages 12.0 points per contest (17th in ICCAC).
Hillman also leads the Trojans with 8.4 rebounds per game, which ranks fifth in the ICCAC. Hillman leads the ICCAC with 73 blocked shots, which is tied for 10th in NJCAA Division II.
Miller is next in line with 5.9 rebounds per contest (19th in ICCAC)
Freshman Alexis Schroeder leads NIACC with 62 3-point goals, which ranks fifth in the ICCAC. Miller leads the team with 120 assists, which ranks fifth in the ICCAC.
Sophomore Keiara Anderson leads NIACC with 59 steals, which is sixth in the ICCAC.
Iowa Western is led by McKenna Minter, who ranks second in the league in scoring at 20.0 points per game. Minter ranks third in the ICCAC with 77 steals.
Caleigh Rose-West leads the Reivers with 8.1 rebounds per game (sixth in ICCAC).
Noel Warrior leads the Reivers with 47 3-point goals (14th in ICCAC). Shannon Niles leads Iowa Western with 77 assists (11th in ICCAC).
