
Balanced attack pushes NIACC past Ellsworth, 88-65
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team had six players score in double figures as the Trojans picked up an 88-65 victory over Ellsworth in ICCAC action on Wednesday.
The Trojans (11-4 overall, 4-2 ICCAC) received 12 points apiece off the bench from Lilly Radcliffe and Sonya Potthoff while Alexis Schroeder, Tori Miller and Madison Hillman added 11 points each in the win. NIACC also saw Zhane Singer reach double figures with 10 points while adding nine rebounds, which tied Hillman for the team lead.
NIACC, which trailed by as many as eight points in the first quarter, outscored Ellsworth 57-18 in the middle two quarters as the Trojans' lead ballooned to 33 points.
Adding to the balanced NIACC attack were Kameron Jones, Grace Davis-Chavez and Keiara Anderson, who scored eight, seven and six points, respectively, The Trojans, who host Southeastern next Wednesday, also 21 assists, led by Miller's six.
Taylor Ross led the Panthers (6-9, 1-5) with a game-high 21 points while Favour Nmecha Anyaele added 12 points and 14 rebounds.
