
Hillman powers NIACC to 80-69 win
MASON CITY - Freshman Madison Hillman recorded a triple-double to help lead the NIACC women's basketball team to a 80-69 victory Saturday over Black Hawk College-Moline at the Konigsmark Klassic.
Hillman, a post player from St. Ansgar, scored 17 points with 13 rebounds and 10 blocked shots. It was the first triple-double for the Trojans since Audrey Martinez-Stewart scord 16 points with 12 rebounds and 10 assists against Iowa Central on Feb. 15, 2023.
NIACC (2-0 overall) also received a double-double from Tori Miller with 13 points and 11 rebounds. It was the second consecutive double-double for Miller, who scored 19 points with 14 rebounds in Friday's 77-64 win over Bryant & Stratton.
NIACC's Keeley Steele scored 15 points with eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.
NIACC returns to action Tuesday at home against the William Penn Junior Varsity. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 5:30 p.m.
