
NIACC women stop William Penn JV, 79-67
MASON CITY - For the second time in three seasons, the NIACC women's basketball team has started the season 3-0.
NIACC, which opened the season with a pair of wins at the Konigsmark Klassic last weekend, received 22 points and nine rebounds from freshman Madison Hillman in Tuesday's 79-67 victory over the William Penn Junior Varsity in the NIACC gym.
The Trojans opened the 2021-22 season with five straight wins.
In Tuesday's non-conference win over the Statesmen, NIACC's Kameron Jones scored 11 points and Tori Miller scored 10 points.
Hillman also contributed three assists, three blocked shots and three steals.
Also for the Trojans, Alexis Schroeder and Sonya Pothoff both scored seven points and Keiara Anderson scored six points. Anderson also had seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
NIACC returns to action Friday and Saturday at the NDSCS AmericaInn Classic in Wapheton, N.D. The Trojans face host NDSCS on Friday and Minnesota North-Itasca on Saturday.
