
NIACC women stop Iowa Lakes, 93-71
- Trojans win for 5th time in 6 games
- Hillman scores 19 points, grabs 7 rebounds
- 5 Trojans score in double figures
ESTHERVILLE - The NIACC women's basketball team topped Iowa Lakes 93-71 on Monday night in a makeup ICCAC contest.
NIACC improved its overall record to 13-5 and moved its mark in the ICCAC to 6-3. The Trojans have won five of their last six games dating back to Dec. 13.
Freshman Madison Hillman scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Trojans. Hillman, who is from St. Ansgar, also had two blocked shots and two assists.
Also in double figures for the Trojans were Alexis Schroeder with 15 points, Tori Miller with 14 points, Keiara Anderson with 13 points and Lilly Radcliffe with 13 points.
Miller, a freshman from Goodhue, Minn., also collected five rebounds with three assists. Anderson, a sophomore from St. Cloud, Minn., had four rebounds with ttwo steals.
NIACC was 24 of 32 from the free-throw line Monday against the Lakers. The 24 made free throws is a season high and is the most in a game for the Trojans since they made 26 against DMACC on march 8, 2023.
Miller was 8 of 12 from the charity stripe and Hillman was 7 of 8 from the free-throw line.
Monday's win by NIACC over the Lakers was the first time the Trojans have won at Iowa Lakes since a 61-56 win on March 2, 2022 in the opening round of the regional tournament.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday in an ICCAC contest at Ellsworth. Game time in Iowa Falls is slated for 5:30 p.m.
